French artist born in Toulon in 1973.

His passions are drawing, painting and cinema.

 

"After studying Fine Arts, I picked an interest with cartoon animation work.

A drawing must be energetic and full of life and a painting should suggest life.

A drawing of a sketch is  usually a snapshot of a captured movement. I learned the ropes of the industry, for 20 years, from story boarder to character designer, from props to special fx.

Travelling on my spare time got me to start painting landscapes and sketching people, situations or landmarks in my travel sketchbooks.

 

I am interested in trying various techniques like watercolor or acrylic paint, pastels or China Ink, sometimes mixing them with coffee for texture, as an example and it’s unique blend of colors.

 

For portraits, I use photo reference of course but I always try to capture the expression that brings forth the unique, defining personality traits of an individual.

I paint them using the same traditional techniques as for the landscapes that I mix with digital painting.
Wether it’s in art, everyday life or even martial arts - I have been practicing aïkido for several years now - I always seek the impulse of energy tracking down what defines every movement.

Athletes express that notion physically and the whole challenge is to capture the right moment and translate it in art form. Everyone is unique therefore each of my paintings have to reveal that uniqueness."
